skills, experience and education linked to rural crafts,
land management, horticulture and heritage. This is about
creating routes into skills that remain valuable over time.
The Estate’s contribution extends beyond its own
boundary. Its activity supports employment, spending,
training and local supply chains, helping to sustain
a broader rural economy across this part of South
Gloucestershire and beyond.
By 2040, the Estate aims to:
At present, the Estate’s activity is estimated to support
more than 350 FTE jobs and generate around
£15 million in annual GVA across the wider economy.
• Support more than 800 FTE jobs, directly and
indirectly.
• Generate around £80 million in annual GVA
across the wider economy.
• Create more opportunities for practical skills,
training and rural enterprise.
• With partners, invest over £70m across 20 projects
across land, buildings and enterprises over the life
of the programme.
• Create over 50 construction phase jobs.
Events and visitors also bring trade to accommodation
providers, food producers and other nearby businesses.
More than 1,000 volunteers support events and wider
Estate activity each year.
The Estate is also reshaping the Beaufort Charitable Trust
so that, alongside its existing community role, it can do
